The remains of 162 Cossacks from the 36th regiment of the 10th Guards Kuban Cavalry Division, heroes who liberated Gorodeya in the distant 1944, rest in a mass grave on a hill in the center of the village, a monument to a Soviet soldier stands above the burial of soldiers, a soldier who defended the freedom and independence of the Motherland at the cost of his own life…
On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the 76th anniversary of liberation from the Nazi invaders, the workers of the Gorodeya Sugar Refinery put the mass grave in order, painted the tombstones. And on July 2, on the day of the liberation of the village of Gorodeya, a rally was held here with the laying of flowers at the memorial.
Blossom, blossom, Gorodeya!
The land is blue-eyed with flax.
Here the sun caresses more gently
The depth is warmer than the heavens.
Here is the old prince's road
Storming a steep slope,
And there is a lot of fluff from the poplar here,
Only in the spring will the Mountain die*.
Here the birch and pine trees are more beautiful,
Fields of emerald expanse,
And it beckons us with a sweet languor
The church has a forest summer forest.
Birch sap is sweeter here,
Less everyday troubles –
And I'm guilty of this cocktail
Our sugar glorious factory.
Here the Motherland smells like an apple
And the father's spirit gives strength.
On the mass grave of a soldier
From the magic circle chain,
And in the center of his hero is a warrior,
Frozen in granite forever,
It does not allow you to forget - for what purpose
There is a man living in the world.
There is a red warrior on the mountain,
Watching us from a height,
He protects the earth from evil,
Here you will feel it.
And not in our busy world
More important and higher than heights,
Than this, where is the feat of the ancestors
The robin sings songs.
And in the music of the bird's cry,
Under the whisper of trees leaves
The victorious voice
of a long-dead war is heard, -
Cossack brave hundreds
From here to immortality they left,
To become an example for posterity
Great love for the Motherland!
Eternal glory to the Heroes who fought for their Homeland.
